The game had a very big importance for second-rankedCSKA as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CSKA edged 8th ranked Uralmash in Moscow 87-84 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Uralmash. CSKA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. The other American import point guard Casper Ware (178-1990, college: LBSU) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American Hayden Dalton (204-1996, college: Wyoming, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Timofey Gerasimov (197-1997, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Uralmash. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CSKA (20-2) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with UNICS. Uralmash at the other side keeps the eighth place with 14 games lost.
